2018 Korea Open: Lee Yong Dae delights home crowd, Team Yonex collects more medals

SEOUL ―Badminton legend Lee Yong Dae (KOR) returned to the 2018 Korea Open in men's doubles for the first time in two years. The hometown hero was welcomed back by an enthusiastic crowd before making his exit in the quarterfinals. 

In men’s singles, Chou Tien Chen of Chinese Taipei powered past Indonesia’s Tommy Sugiarto and captured his third tour title of the year with a 21-13, 21-16 victory in 39 minutes.

In the second Team Yonex final of the day, Ayaka Takahashi (JPN) and Misaki Matsumoto (JPN) captured their second straight title, defeating compatriots and world No. 1 Yuki Fukushima (JPN) and Sayaka Hirota (JPN), 21-11, 21-18, in women's doubles. 

Finally, in men’s doubles, Hiroyuki Endo (JPN) and Yuta Watanabe (JPN) made an outstanding comeback against Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi 9-21, 21-15, 21-10. It is Endo’s first major World Tour title.
