Considered one of the all-time greats, Tony Gunawan is internationally recognized as a champion, competitor, and coach. At the age 25, Tony competed at the 2000 Sydney Summer Olympics and won the Gold Medal in Men's Doubles. In 2001, Tony won the Gold Medal at the World Championships in Seville, Spain. In the following years, Tony was given the opportunity to train and coach emerging USA Badminton players.

After several years of coaching, he found himself back on the tournament circuit from 2005-2011. Tony made history in 2005 winning a first-ever World Championship Gold Medal for the United States and competed in the 2012 London Summer Olympics. Tony currently coaches at the Global Badminton Academy in San Diego and Pomona, CA.
