Born and raised in Japan to Chinese parents, both former professional table tennis players, Haruka Morita was inspired to take up golf at the age of 9 from accompanying her father to practice. From there, she quickly became a promising young star, racking up numerous junior titles.

Morita capped her stellar amateur career with a win of the LPGA of Japan Tour Amateur Championship in 2013. After turning pro in 2015, she joined the Symetra Tour in America – the official development tour for the LPGA – where she won her first championship at the Symetra Classic in North Carolina. Morita obtained her first professional championship in 2017 at the Hokkaido Meiji Cup. She currently sits at No. 13 on the money list. In 2017, Morita was named “Rookie of the Year” by the Golf Tournament Promotion Association of Japan (GTPA).
